Berhampur: A young boy, who was about to join a multi-national company at Bengaluru, allegedly committed suicide in Manmohan Mansion near New Bus Stand here on Thursday.
The boy, Hardik Patnaik (24), had completed BTech from NIST.
After returning from Bengaluru recently, 24-year-old Hardik was in home quarantine for 14 days. He was staying with his parents.
Though the reason behind him taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained, sources close to Hardik said that the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput by suicide had affected him deeply.
In a message on his facebook before committing suicide, Hardik stated that no one was responsible for his ultimate step. “I am sorry; I couldn’t live to anyone’s expectations and proved to be shame for my own. I am not a perfect man, not a perfect son, not a perfect student and still no achievements,” he wrote.
Police have filed a case and are investigating.
