Dhenkanal: A young woman was found dead inside a house at Lokanathpur Sasan village in Kamakhyanagar tehsil of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Lakhmipriya Khuntia.
The Kamakhyanagar Police reached the spot and seized the body.
According to sources, Lakhmipriya was sleeping with her sister in a room. Family members found her dead inside the room early on Thursday. There were cut marks on her neck indicating it could be a case of murder.
Family members and neighbours suspect that someone must have killed her and escaped through the terrace. “She was healthy. It seems someone has killed her. Proper investigation should be conducted,” a neighbour told media.
Probe by Kamakhyanagar Police is underway.
