Younis Khan to hang up his boots after West Indies tour

Karachi: The West Indies will be last tour for two of the Pakistan’s greatest batsman. First it was -serving Pakistan Test captain, Misbah-ul-Haq and now its middle order batsman Younis Khan.

The 40-year-old Pakistan batsman, announced his retirement from international cricket, confirming that the three-match Test against West Indies will be his last.

Younis made his first-class debut for Peshawar against Karachi in January 1999. On the back of fine performances in the domestic circuit, he made his foray into the Test side for the three-match series against Sri Lanka in March 2000.

In 2009, when Sri Lanka toured Pakistan, Younis became only the third cricketer from the Asian country to compose a triple hundred in Test cricket. Later that year, Younis also led his country to a memorable World T20 triumph at Lord’s in England, where they defeated Sri Lanka in the final to hoist the trophy.

The veteran played 265 ODIs and notched up 7249 runs. He hung up his boots from the 50-over format after playing the first game of the five-match ODI series against England in November 2015. He also aggregated 442 runs in 25 games in the shortest format of the game.
