Bhubaneswar: Police arrested a youth for allegedly assaulting a woman after the latter turned down the former’s proposal to marry him inside a mall in the city.
According to police sources, when the woman of Janla under Jatni police limits had gone to the mall in Rasulgarh along with with her friends, the youth, identified as Bikram Samal of Ramachandrapur of Keonjhar district, saw her.
Bikram went to her and proposed for marriage. An argument ensued between them as the woman turned down his proposal. Soon, the situation aggravated and in a fit of rage, Bikram assaulted her and threatened to kill her.
However, the security guards of the mall overpowered Bikram and handed him over to the police. After the woman filed a complaint against Bikram at Saheed Nagar police station, the latter arrested him.
