Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested a youth for allegedly blackmailing two sisters with fake obscene pictures in Bhubaneswar.

According to police sources, the youth, identified as Kalia Das from Dhenkanal, was working as a cook in Iskcon Temple and staying in Bhubaneswar. He had opened fake social media accounts in the name of two minor sisters and posted  their obscene pictures by editing those. He was also sending vulgar messages to the minor girls.

He used to blackmail the girls by threatening to send those pictures to their family. After the sisters informed their parents about it, the latter filed a complaint against Kalia in Bhubaneswar cyber police station. The cyber police registered a case and arrested Kalia.

Meanwhile, the authorities of Iskcon temple said they did not have any connection with Kalia. In a clarification, co-chairmen of the Iskcon’s Bhubaneswar establishment Satatwa Pati Das said Kalia was working as a cook in the temple kitchen nine years back. But he had left the organisation and they had no connection with him since then.
