Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police have arrested a youth for allegedly abusing a person on Facebook by posting an obscene picture, making derogatory comments and later threatening to murder him.
The accused was identified as Uday Jena (21), a resident of Sahapur near Panikoili in Jajpur district. Police said Uday was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by one Anil Mallick of Niladri Vihar here.
According to police, Anil had posted a photograph on his Facebook account a few days ago. Replying to the post, Uday posted an obscene photograph and abused Anil for his “false post”.
Later, he managed to get Anil’s phone number from his FB account and threatened him to kill him.
Following this, Anil lodged a complaint at Chandrasekharpur police station. Police then tracked Uday’s mobile number and caught him from Panikoili area.
The accused was produced in a court on Saturday after his arrest.
