Keonjhar: A youth was arrested by Keonjhar police for allegedly issuing death threats on social media to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The youth, who hails from Jajpur, was arrested for using abusive language against the Chief Minister on social media and threatening to kill him, a senior police official said.
The arrest was made following a thorough probe conducted by the cyber wing of Keonjhar district police, according to Keonjhar Superintendent of Police (SP) Kusalkar Nitin Dagudu.
In view of the sensitivity of the matter, further details about the identity of the youth cannot be shared at the moment as further investigation is underway, he said.
The reason behind the death threats issued by the youth to the Chief Minister is being ascertained.
