Cuttack: Police have arrested a youth for allegedly killing a minor boy as the latter threatened to expose the unnatural sex by the former in Odisha’s Cuttack.

Speaking to media persons on Monday, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra said the minor boy was found dead and his body dumped in a pond in Chandan Pokharipada near Thoria Sahi of Jagatpur in the city on December 16. His parents had lodged complaint in Jagatpur police station alleging that he was murdered.

During investigation, police suspected involvement of Jogendra Panda alias Babula of the area in the murder and detained him. During questioning, Babula divulged the details of the crime.

The DCP said the minor boy had left the house after his father beat him up and was hiding in a place where Babula approached him. Babula took the boy to a deserted place and had unnatural sex with him.

As the boy threatened to tell his family about the incident, Babula hit him with wooden plank. As the boy fell down unconscious, he slit his throat with a sickle and later, dumped the body in the pond.

Following the revelation, the police arrested Babula and also seized the murder weapon, the DCP said.
