Koraput: Members of Yuva Jagaran Samiti, on Wednesday, appealed the Maoists to give up violence and join the mainstream society.
Through posters pasted at Sunki in Koraput district, the youth association said, “The area has been witnessing violence and extremism owing to which people are worst affected. We request the Maoists to surrender arms to bring back peace and harmony in the region.”
Appealing to the district administration to stop combing operations in the locality, the youth association stated that guns cannot bring development. They called upon the locals to come forward and work together for the development of the state.
