Youth Attempts Suicide After Losing Online Games In Odisha’s Angul, Hospitalised

Angul: A 24-year-old man allegedly attempted suicide by slitting his throat in Odisha’s Angul after losing online games.

The youth, identified as Soumya Ranjan Nayak of Jeranga village, is undergoing treatment at Angul District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), sources said.

Nayak reportedly lost his cool and slit his throat after losing online games repeatedly. Following repeated defeat, he got agitated and took out a blade. He then tried to end his life by slitting his throat.

His family members called the ambulance and rushed him to the hospital after finding him bleeding profusely. His condition is stated to be stable. No police complaint has been filed so far.

Earlier, a 19-year-old student from a village in Balasore district had allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself after losing over Rs 1 lakh while playing online games.
