Youth Beaten To Death In Bhubaneswar, Foul Play Suspected

Bhubaneswar: A 25-year-old youth was allegedly beaten to death by locals of Bahadalpur village under Khandagiri police limits on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Jyotiranjan Baliarsingh aka Titan.

According to sources, Titan was hanging out with two friends near the railway level crossing last night when another youth, who was returning home with his mother on a motorcycle, had a heated verbal fight with the trio over a trivial issue. Following this, the youth called up the villagers to settle the matter.

While Titan’s friends apologized and left the place, he continued to argue with them. The incident soon took an ugly turn when the locals started beating Titan, killing him on the spot.

On being alerted, Khandagiri and Airfield police rushed to the spot and detained the two friends of the deceased for interrogation.

Titan’s family members alleged that the duo is involved in his death.
