Rayagada: A youth was electrocuted after he reportedly climbed the roof of a train and came in contact with the high-tension overhead electrical wires at Jimidipeta railway station in Odisha’s Rayagada district.
The identity of the youth, who had climbed the 12375 Jasidih Weekly Superfast Express, is yet to be ascertained. He was completely charred after touching the high-voltage wires.
According to reports, a guard saw the youth climbing the train’s roof and alerted the driver. The driver stopped the train at Jimidipeta station. In the meantime, the youth came in contact with the overhead wires and died instantly.
The body was sent to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
