Youth Critical After Masked Miscreants Open Fire In Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Unidentified miscreants opened fire at a man and critically injured him in Bisra area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Muhammad Raza, is a pick-up van driver. He was immediately rushed to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) in the steel city for treatment in a critical state, sources said.

While the reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected to be the outcome of a group clash.

As per preliminary information, Raza was speaking to his neighbours at a slum near Bisra ITI when two bike-borne maksed miscreants approached them.

A scuffle broke out and all of a sudden and one of the two took out a pistol and fired at Raza, who sustained grievous injury. While family members and locals rushed him to the hospital, the accused immediately fled the scene.

Police on getting information, reached the spot and started investigation. A case has been registered and efforts are on to trace the accused.
