Dhenkanal: A young boy died after coming in contact with live electricity wire in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Monday.
As per reports, the 28-year-old boy was identified as Jagan Rout of Basulei village under Parjang police station in the district. The incident took place when he had taken a herd of goats from the village for grazing in nearby forest at around 11 am.
Jagan had climbed a tree to cut the branches to feed the green leaves to the goats. While cutting a branch at a height, he accidentally came in contact with 132 KV wire going through the forest. Charge by high voltage current, he fell down and died.
As Jagan did not return home for a long time, his family members went to the forest in search of him and found him lying on the ground. By the time, he was already dead. He had sustained burn injuries on chest and hands.
On being informed, a team from Parjang police station went to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. They have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation.
