Youth Killed In Train Mishap On Bridge Over Daya River In Odisha

Khurda: A youth died on the spot and two others were seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a passenger train on a bridge between Khurda and Motari railway stations on Saturday morning.

According to sources, the accident took place while the trio was tresspassing and crossing the bridge. The train hit the bike and dragged it along for around 30 feet.

While the youth died on the spot, two others riding pillion managed to escape with injuries by jumping off the bike.

On being informed, police rushed to the spot and admitted the two youths to the district headquarters hospital.

Police said that the body of the deceased will be handed over to the family members after the postmortem.

The identity of the deceased and the two injured youths was not immediately known.
