Puri: A youth died after his uncle allegedly hurled five country-made bombs on his house at Naibhansar village under Delang block in Odisha’s Puri district on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Tapan Das.
According to sources, Tapan’s brother lodged a complaint against his uncle, Bidyadhar Das, at Harirajpur police station on Tuesday following a heated argument between the two families over past enmity. Angry over it, Bidyadhar allegedly hurled five country-made bombs at Tapan’s house.
Tapan was critically injured in the explosion while trying to save his daughter. He was rushed to AIIMS-Bhubaneswar where he was pronounced dead.
Police were deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incident. A probe is underway.
