Angul: A youth died in a road accident at Jarasingha village of Angul district on Wednesday night after an unknown vehicle hit Jayanta Kumar Sahoo (31), killing him on the spot.
On Thursday morning, irate Jarasingha village residents placed Sahoo’s body in the middle of the road blocking it. They were demanding compensation for Sahoo’s family.
Hundreds of vehicles were left stranded on both sides of the Angul-Chhendipada road because of the blockade. The police arrived at the spot on receiving information and pacified the protesters.
