Baripada: Tension ran high in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district on Sunday after a youth died and his mother sustained critical injuries in a road accident.
According to information, the duo was on the way to their relative’s house when a speeding truck hit their two-wheeler from the rear.
Following the incident, an irate mob gathered near the accident spot and blocked the Baripada-Posta road demanding a compensation of Rs 20 lakh for the family of the deceased.
The agitators ransacked a ‘108’ ambulance for reaching late to shift the women to hospital.
Police have seized the body and began investigation.
