A youth drowned in Kanjia lake while collecting lotus
Bhubaneswar: Barang Police and Fire service personnel recovered the body of a youth from the Kanjia Lake inside the premises of Nandankanan Zoological Park here on Saturday morning.
The incident took place around 7 am.
According to police, Bibekananda Rout of Raghunathpur village near the zoo had gone to the lake in a country boat to collect lotus flowers. While collecting them, he fell into the lake as the boat suddenly tilted to one side after it got entangled in the moss.
Following the incident, some locals informed the Barang Police who rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the lake.
The body was later sent to the Capital Hospital here for postmortem.
