Youth Drowns In Koel River Near Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: A youth went missing while taking bath in Koel river in the city on Sunday afternoon.

According to sources, a group of youths had gone to Teterkela on the outskirts of the city for a picnic in the morning.

After arriving at the place, two youths went for a bath in the river and slipped into the deep water. As they did not know swimming, they started drowning, the sources said.

The locals present near the river informed the Fire Brigade who rushed to the spot and managed to rescue one youth in a critical condition. Efforts were on to trace the other youth.

The condition of the rescued youth, who was rushed to the Rourkela Government Hospital, is stated to be critical. The identity of the youths was yet to be ascertained.
