Youth Attacked By Crocodile While Taking Bath In Brahmani

Pattamundai: A youth had a narrow escape when a crocodile attacked him while he was taking bath in the Brahmani river at Rajpur village of Rajnagar block in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Thursday morning.

Bhagabata Rout had gone to the river in the morning when a crocodile suddenly attacked his left hand. However, he fought bravely and escaped from the water. Some residents then rushed him to the Community Health Centre at Rajnagar from where he was shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

Residents said that parts of iron grills put up by the forest department at the bathing ghats had snapped, enabling crocodiles to enter and attack humans.
