Youth Found Hanging After Losing Money In Online Game In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A youth was found hanging at his house in Bhubaneswar on Thursday reportedly after suffering financial loss in online games.

As per information, the incident took place near Tinimundia Chhak in Badu Sahi area under the jurisdiction of Lingaraja police station. The deceased has been identified as Shasanka Sekhar Satapathy (22).

Sources said Shasanka was found hanging from the ceiling in his house. His family members immediately rescued him and rushed him to a hospital in critical condition. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

After getting information, a team from Lingaraja police station visited the hospital and launched an investigation. A case has been registered and the police have seized the youth’s mobile phone for further probe.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the youth had suffered huge financial loss while playing online game. It is suspected that he took loans from some people to invest in the game. Investigation by the police is underway to ascertain the exact reason behind the death of the youth.
