Bhubaneswar: A youth was found hanging in a hotel room at Jagamara under Khandagiri police limits in Odisha capital on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Durga Charan Mishra, native of Niali in Cuttack district.
According to sources, he had celebrated birthday of one of his friends last night. It is being alleged that he hanged himself using the dupatta (scarf) of his girlfriend, who also attended the party, while she had gone to the washroom. Durga’s friend found him hanging inside the room this morning.
His family, however, alleged that he was murdered after being invited to the party and have lodged a complaint with Khandagiri police, who have seized the mobile phone of the deceased and are questioning his friends to elicit information.
Investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death.
