Cuttack: A youth’s body was found hanging on a swing installed for Raja festival at a village in Banki area of Odisha’s Cuttack district.
The incident, which took place at Brahmei pitha under the jufisdiction of Banki police station, came to light on Saturday morning. The deceased has been identified as Anil Behera of Sahadapada village.
Family members of the deceased claimed that Anil has been murdered. They said he had gone out with some of his friends last night and never returned.
They further claimed that Anil’s feet were touching the ground and demanded thorough investigation into the incident.
Sources said that there was a dispute in the village during the festival yesterday.
On getting information, police personnel rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
A forensic team also visited the spot and a clear picture will emerge only after a proper investigation, police said.
After getting the postmortem, it will be ascertained whether it is a case of suicide or murder, they said.
