Bhubaneswar: A youth was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room Pokhariput area of Bhubaneswar.
Following the incident that reportedly took place on Thursday night, police have launched a detailed investigation ascertain the cause of death of the youth, identified as Bubuna Pradhan.
As per preliminary information, the young man had been in a live-in relationship with a woman for the past few months.
Family members of the deceased have alleged foul play and lodged a complaint with the police. It has been alleged that the woman had contacted them earlier
in the day and informed them that Bubuna was unwell. However, when they reached the hotel later in the night his body was found in a hanging condition inside a room. Family members have levelled murder allegations against his girlfriend Barsha, who is currently missing.
According to police, Bubuna had checked into the hotel with Barsha, a resident of Nayagarh district, with whom he had been in a live-in relationship for 6 months. His body was later discovered in a hanging condition inside the room. While investigators are probing all angles, including suicide and murder, Bubuna’s family insists he was killed.
They allege that Barsha sought help from others to murder him, pointing to suspicious phone calls made around 3 am when she informed relatives that Bubuna had become unconscious. By the time family members reached the hotel, he was already dead.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and launched a search for Barsha.
