Nabarangpur: A youth was found murdered in a village of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Wednesday.
As per reports, the 27-year-old youth, identified as Tankadhar Dalei of Khatiguda village under Tentulikhunti block of the district had gone to see a play at Kali Puja Mandap on Tuesday night and had not returned home.
On Wednesday morning, Tankadhar was found dead in a pool of blood beside a road in Indravati Project Colony near the village. There were injury marks on his body.
On being informed by the villagers, a team from Khatiguda police station went to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. They found the victim’s shoes, jacket and bag lying at a distance from his body. They also pressed sniffer dog to trace the movement of the assailants.
From the preliminary investigation, the police estimated the time of Tankadhar’s death at around 3 am. Nabarangpur SP Rohit Verma and SDPO Aditya Sen also visited the spot to help the police in investigation.
Though the cause of Tankadhar’s death has not been ascertained, his father Padman Dalei has filed a police complaint alleging that he was killed by a group of people. The police have started investigation into the case.
