Jagatsinghpur: A young man went missing after he reportedly jumped into the Mahanadi River near Paradip in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Saturday.
As per sources, the youth suddenly jumped into the river at Bhutamundi near Paradip town.
The youth has been identified as Bibhu Majhi (25) of Mangarajpur village under the jurisdiction of Kujang Police Station. He was studying a diploma course in mechanical engineering.
Locals said the youth jumped into the river following a family dispute. Local residents and fishermen found him jumping into the river and immediately alerted the Kujang Fire Service officials about it.
On being informed, fire service personnel rushed to the scene and launched a search operation in the river with the help of fishermen. Efforts were still on to trace him.
