Nabarangpur: A youth, Bhabatosh Bhadra, surrendered before police after hacking another to death at Kumuli village under Raighar block of Nabarangpur district over suspected past enmity late on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Dipankar Biswas (23) of the village.
According to reports, Dipakar was called to a playground in the village and attacked with a hatchet. He sustained serious injuries in the attack and was rushed to Umerkote hospital from where he was shifted to Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital. However, the doctor declared him brought dead. The body was sent for postmortem on Sunday morning.
Some villagers attributed the attack on Dipankar to his alleged affair with Bhabatosh’s sister.
