Jatni: A youth was hacked to death over suspected past enmity at Sandhapur village in Jatni of Khurda district late on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Anup Behera (24).
According to reports, a group of armed miscreants barged into the victim’s house and attacked him with sharp weapons. Three of his family members, who tried to prevent the assailants, sustained severe injuries.
The neighbours rescued Meena (50), Sandip (30) and Swarup (26) and admitted them to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, reports added.
Police have started investigation and launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants, who fled the spot soon after committing the crime.
