Youth Hacked To Death In Bhubaneswar Over ‘Love Triangle’

Bhubaneswar: A triangular love story allegedly led to the murder of a youth in Chintamaniswar area in Odisha capital.

The deceased, identified as Anjan Behera, was allegedly hacked to death by Pinku alias Kanha Pradhan, in Chintamaniswar area under the jurisdiction of Laxmisagar police station late on Friday night.

As per information, Anjan was friend of Goutam who was in a relationship with a girl. After attending a party, Goutam along with Anjan had gone to meet the girl on Friday night. Following the development, Pinku, who happens to be another lover of the girl, attacked Goutam with a sword while he was talking with his lover. In a bid to save Goutam, Anjan suffered critical injuries.

He was immediately rushed to the Capital Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A complaint has been lodged at Laxmisagar police station in connection with the incident. An investigation into the incident has been launched. The accused, who is on the run, is yet to be nabbed.

While efforts are underway to trace the accused, police are stated to be planning to question some of his friends to gather information about the crime.
