Bhubaneswar: A youth was allegedly hacked to death in full public view at Palasuni in Odisha capital on Thursday.
The incident took place in front of a liquor shop this afternoon.
According to available information, an unidentified man attacked the youth with a ‘Bhujali’ and fled the spot.
On being informed about the murder, Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahu accompanied by senior officials from Mancheswar police station reached the spot and started investigation.
Some locals said that the liquor outlet had become a haven for criminals. The murder case is apparently the fallout of an old rivalry between youth and the criminals visiting this place, they alleged.
