Youth Hacks Father To Death, Rapes Stepmother In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: A youth allegedly hacked his father to death over a family feud at Champajhar village under Tomka police station limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sadhaye Hembram.

It is further alleged that the accused, identified as Lugu Hemdram, raped his step mother after perpetrating the crime.

A complaint was lodged at the local police station in this regard on Monday. Police suspect that the killing might have been the fallout of a family dispute over a piece of land even though the exact reason is yet to be ascertained. It was learnt that that the accused committed the crime under the influence of alcohol.

Meanwhile, a team of police officials from Tomka police station have started invstigating the matter and detained the accused Lugu Hembram for questioning. The rape victim has demanded stern action against the accused.
