Youth Held For Outraging Modesty Of Hotel Management Student In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: A youth has been arrested for allegedly outraging the modesty of a hotel management student in Odisha capital on Tuesday evening.

According to sources, the incident took when the girl agreed to take a lift from the accused, who told her that he was going in the same direction, at Maitri Vihar when returning home from work at a restaurant in the city after duty hours. He drove her to a secluded place and allegedly physically abused her. Some local heard her screams and came to her rescue. They also caught hold of the accused and handed him over to local police.

The accused has been identified as Satya Narayan Sahu (31), a resident of Gadakana area here. A case has been registered against him under Sections 341, 376 and 511 of the IPC.

Police will be recording the victim’s statement under Section 161 of CrPC, sources added.
