Youth Injured After Being Hit By Ama Bus In Bhubaneswar



Bhubaneswar: A youth was injured after an Ama Bus allegedly hit him near Acharya Vihar Square in Odisha’s capital city on Wednesday.

According to sources, the bus was travelling on Route number 9, which connects Patia to Bhubaneswar railway station. The youth was walking to a bus stop at 10.30 am when th

e vehicle hit him from behind. Locals rushed to rescue him and informed Saheed Nagar police.

The youth, who sustained injuries on his shoulder and leg, was admitted to Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment.

The situation turned tense after the accident, as angry locals pelted stones at the bus, which damaged its glass and confronted the Ama Bus driver. They alleged that the bus was over-speeding, which caused the crash. Officers from Saheed Nagar police station intervened and pacified the locals. Police have detained the driver for questioning.

Just 10 days back, a rider lost his life when an Ama Bus rammed into his motorcycle on National Highway (NH)-16 near Rasulgarh flyover in Bhubaneswar.
