Youth Injured In Attack By Kin

Khurda: A youth of Tirimala village under Jatni Police Station limits was seriously injured after he was attacked by a man and his nephew late on Tuesday night.

The injured youth, identified as Anama Sahu, was rushed to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition became critical.

Sources said Anama’s friend Tiki Jena was in love with a girl some years ago. But he deserted her later after keeping her in his house for about a month. However, as Anama objected to his decision, he married the girl later much against his will.

Dissatisfied with the marriage, Tiki and his uncle Biju Jena had planned to eliminate Anama and as planned, attacked him with sharp weapons. However, the youth survived when the villagers rushed to the spot after hearing his shout.

Meanwhile, Jatni police has registered a case and efforts are on to nab the absconding duo.
