Youth Injured In Firing By Retired Army Personnel In Odisha’s Khurda

Khurda: A youth was critically injured in a firing incident in the district on Friday.

According to sources, the youth identified as Bibhuti Bhushan Jena had gone on a visit to his cousin’s house at Nuasahi in Begunia on the day.

A retired defence personnel staying on rent in his cousin’s place fired at Bibhuti. As Bibhuti sustained critical bullet injury, his relatives rushed him to the Khurda Hospital. Later, he was shifted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar as his condition deteriorated.

Following the incident, the retired officer of Indian Army was absconding. Bibhuti’s relatives lodged a police complaint alleging his involvement in the firing incident.

Following investigation, the police traced the accused and arrested him from Arugul in Jatni.
