Rourkela: A young man allegedly beat his father to death for enquiring about a missing goat in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday.
As per reports, Akash Munda, the son of Bhuban Munda of Ganighasa village under Lahunipada police limits in the district had taken their herd of goats for grazing in the morning as his daily routine. When Akash returned home in the afternoon, one of the goats was missing from the herd.
On being asked by Bhuban about the missing goat, Akash retaliated in harsh words. This led to an argument which escalated into heated exchange of words between them. In a fit of rage, Akash attacked his father with a stick.
As Akash hit Bhuban’s head with a force, the latter started bleeding and fell down losing sense. Their neighbours rushed Bhuban to a hospital at Lahunipada. But he succumbed during treatment, the sources said.
On being informed, police went to the village and arrested Akash. They have registered a case after preliminary investigation.
