Cuttack: A youth went missing after allegedly jumping into river Mahanadi from Jobra barrage in Odisha’s Cuttack on Tuesday.
The youth was identified as Mrutyunjay Manik, a resident of Mancheswar area in Bhubaneswar.
Locals informed authorities about the incident following which Fire and ODRAF personnel rushed to the spot and started search operation.
However, a swollen Mahanadi river posed challenges in the rescue, sources said.
The scooter and a pair of footwear reportedly belonging to the youth were found at the spot from where he allegedly jumped into the river, sources added.
Till last reports came, the youth was yet to be traced, the sources added.
