Khurda: Tension ran high in Gopalpur panchayat of Khurda district on Monday afternoon after people of Deuli Nuasahi village under Begunia police limits torched the house of a youth suspecting his hand in the murder of another youth of the village.
Reports said Chinmay Sahu died on the spot after a village youth attacked him with sharp weapons while he was going somewhere on his bike. The incident took place barely 200m from his house.
Soon after the incident, residents rushed to the spot and torched a youth’s house on suspicion that he had killed Sahu.
Begunia police later rushed to the village for an on-the-spot investigation. According to preliminary investigation, the dead youth had a long-standing dispute with a family from the same village. Also, his marriage had been fixed for February 21.
