Youth Murdered On New Year’s Eve In Odisha

Bhadrak: New Year’s Eve celebrations turned tragic at Jalanga village under Sadar police limits in Bhadrak district after a group of youths murdered a youth on Tuesday night.

Police identified the deceased as Satyabrata Siala.

According to sources, some youths were organizing a feast on the village outskirts when another group came to the spot. This led to an altercation. The incident soon took a violent turn when the second group of youths took Satyabrata to a secluded place and attacked him with iron rods and wooden sticks, killing him on the spot. Later, they dumped the body on the verandah of the UCO Bank office building.

The victim’s family lodged a police complaint. Police said they have sent the body to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem and efforts are on to catch the assailants.
