Youth Picked Up By Police Dies Under Mysterious Conditions In Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A youth, who was earlier picked up by the police in connection with a case, died under mysterious circumstances while undergoing treatment after he suddenly fell sick in Joda area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district

As per preliminary reports, the deceased youth was identified as Dinesh Nayak of Birikala village under the jurisdiction of Joda police station in the district.

Sources said Dinesh was taken to a private health centre in Joda town for treatment after he fell sick. However, doctors in the hospital later declared him ‘dead’. The cause of Dinesh’s death is yet to be ascertained.

As the incident triggered anger among locals, adequate police force was deployed at the hospital as well as Joda police station to prevent any untoward situation.

Arrangements have been made for the conduct of post-mortem and further details about the incident are awaited.
