Youth ‘Rapes’ Bar Dancer On Marriage Pretext In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police are hunting for a youth for “raping” a bar dancer here after allegedly promising to marry her.

The matter came to light after the woman, who works as a dancer at a bar on Cuttack Road, lodged a rape complaint with Laxmisagar police.

The complainant, who hails from Kalahandi district, told police that the youth used to frequent her bar. Sometime later, the accused promised to marry the woman and had regular sex with her.

When the woman asked him for marriage, the accused started avoiding her and even threatened her with dire consequences.

Police said they have raided several places at the youth’s native place in Bhadrak district, but were yet to catch him.
