Bhubaneswar: Police on Saturday arrested a youth on charges of raping his house owner’s daughter in Odisha capital.
The accused has been identified as Bijay Pradhan. He belongs to Nayagarh district.
According to sources, Pradhan was staying on rent in a house under Airfield Police limits here and was engaged in flower business.
Finding the house owner’s daughter alone at home on Saturday morning, Pradhan called her to his room and allegedly raped her. When the girl shouted for help, the youth fled the spot.
The victim’s parents later filed a complaint at the Airfield police station.
Based on the complaint, the police nabbed Pradhan from Pokhariput here by tracking his mobile phone number.
