Bhubaneswar: Tension ran high in the Odisha capital following the death of a youth, who was run over by a city bus on Wednesday afternoon.
According to sources, the accident took place at around 1 pm when the youth was crossing to the other side of the road at the Master Canteen Square here.
Tension prevailed in the area soon after the incident as the irate locals rushed to the spot and damaged the bus. However, the driver managed to escape.
On being informed a PCR van rushed to the spot and took the body of the youth to the Capital Hospital for postmortem.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately known.
