Youth Shot At Inside Hotel In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A youth sustained bullet injuries after he was shot at by another youth inside a roadside food joint in Chandaka area on the outskirts of the state capital on Wednesday.

According to sources, a group of young boys were having lunch at Jungle View Hotel on the roadside behind Nandankanan at about 2.30 pm when another group of arrived at the hotel.

An altercation ensued between the two groups over the consumption of liquor, which later turned violent. One of them opened fire. The shot hit a customer who was dining in the restaurant at that time.

Following the incident, the accused and his friends fled the area. The injured person was rushed to a private hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, Nandankanan Police rushed to the hotel for an on-the-spot investigation. Efforts are on to identify the miscreants from the CCTV footage, police said.
