Cuttack: A youth was shot dead by two miscreants on a busy road in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Tuesday evening.
According to the sources, the youth, Chintamani Sahu, had come out of his house in Subhadrapur of the city Sadar police limits on some work. The two miscreants came on a motorcycle and fired at him. Chintamani fell down and started bleeding from the bullet injury. Before he could be taken to hospital, he succumbed.
On being informed, a police team went to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. While the identity of the assailants has not been known, the police were questioning the local people to ascertain it.
Chintamani, who belongs to Banki in Cuttack district, was staying in Subhadrapur for the last few years. Though the exact cause of firing has not been known, the locals suspected it to be fallout of old rivalry.
