Youth Slashes Tongue Inside Keonjhar Temple

The victim has been identified as Dasharathi Jena, a resident of Thakurmunda in Mayurbhanj district.

Jena was rescued by some servitors of the temple and rushed to Ghatagaon community health centre in a critical condition. The doctors stated that the victim was bleeding profusely and was operated upon. His condition is now stable, the doctors added.

According to eyewitness, the youth arrived at the temple this morning and slashed his tongue with a blade.

Locals suspect that Jena too the step to appease the deity for fulfillment of his wishes.
