Youth Stabs Brother To Death For Not Giving Belt To Wear In Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: In a shocking incident, a youth allegedly stabbed his brother to death over a fight over pant belt in Odish’s Jharsuguda district.

According to sources, the brothers, Umesh Chauhan (21) and Somesh Chauhan (24), staying in Gualpada under Orient police station in Brajrajnagar, had a fight over wearing the belt. A minor argument over the issue escalated to a physical assault between the brothers.

In a fit of rage, Umesh stabbed his elder brother Somesh with a sharp knife. As Somesh started bleeding profusely, their family members rushed him to Central Hospital at Ib Valley managed by Mahanadi Coalfield Ltd (MCL). But the doctors in the hospital declared Somesh brought dead.

On being informed, a team from Orient police station went to the hospital and seized the body. They have registered a case on the basis of a complaint filed by the father of two brothers and sent the body for post-mortem.

The police have also detained Umesh for further action. Somesh is survived by wife and two children.
