Youth Tied To Tree & Beaten Up In Odisha’s Nayagarh; Video Goes Viral

Nayagarh: In a barbaric incident, a youth was allegedly thrashed with his hands and legs tied to a tree by a group of people at a village in Fategarh area of Odisha’s Nayagarh district.

The inhuman incident reportedly took place at Badasahara village under the jurisdiction of Fategarh Police Station in the district on Friday. The incident came to light after a video of the scene went viral on social media.

As per sources, the victim has been identified as Arun Muli, who works as a driver and lives in Bhubaneswar.

Arun’s wife Barsha alleged that her husband had some dispute with his elder brother over ancestral property and he was beaten up mercilessly over the issue.

She claimed that family members of Arun’s elder brother mounted a barbaric attack on him. They tied him to a tree and thrashed him mercilessly with pieces of wood, causing him grievous injuries.

Arun was later rescued and admitted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar in a critical condition.

An FIR in this connection has been lodged at Fategarh Police Station. The accused persons are reported to have fled the village. Investigation into the incident is in progress.
