Dhenkanal: Three enterprising youths dressed as Yamraj, Coronavirus and a sadhu have started touring villages in Parajanga block of Dhenkanal district to create awareness about steps to check the spread of the pandemic.
The three youths are Mitika Bhoi, who dresses like Yamraj, Tapan Bhoi (dressed as Coronavirus) and Tuna Nath (sadhu).
They sing songs on COVID and play a Kendara (wooden musical instrument) to spread messages like not venturing out of the house unnecessarily, wearing masks, maitaining social distancing and following government protocols against the virus.
The youths said they took to this novel method of spreading awareness as the second wave of the pandemic is very harmful.
They have so far visited several villages including Baiginia, Sarabereni, Balaoasi, Bherunia, Kendupasi, Saanda, and Talaberenato to spread awareness.
